Adam Cootway was both husband and father who managed a farm. Born April 9, 1818 in Liberty township, he married Elizabeth Brous in the early 1850s; general farming and stock raising remained his forte until retirement 1890 when he began being active with local politics and religion until his death on month day 1958 at age 79 and is interred at Rocky Fork Cemetery.
