Adam Dawe – Hockey Player
Adam Dawe, originally hailing from Gander in Newfoundland, has signed with the Growlers, an ECHL affiliate of Toronto Maple Leafs. Adam will become only eighth Newfoundlander ever featured for their team during 2022-23 and 13th local product overall!
Dawe completed his senior season of college hockey at the University of Connecticut Huskies and scored one goal during 16 appearances. Additionally, he spent four years at University of Maine, playing alongside current Growlers forward Keenan Suthers.
Early Life and Education
Adam Dawe was born in Fitzroy, Melbourne in 1930 and spent much of his early life working in various industries before enrolling at Melbourne University for Adult Matriculation by part-time study. Although he completed this degree course in 1953 before leaving before receiving his degree certificate – after which he went back into work as postman/gardener; then rejoined Royal Australian Air Force education assistant corps as education assistant; taught English literature classes at Downlands College Toowoomba Queensland (before eventually teaching it himself!).
In 2022, he joined JM Finn as a Chartered Wealth Manager, responsible for providing advice and managing investment portfolios of clients and trustees. With more than 10 years of experience helping them manage their private wealth effectively. Additionally, he sits on the Collective Investment Committee focusing on global collectives.
Professional Career
Adam Dawe has made an impression during his professional hockey career. He played with both Sioux Falls Stampede in the USHL and Newfoundland Growlers of ECHL.
Adam Dawe of Gander made the move from college hockey to professional with the University of Connecticut before opting to sign with the Newfoundland Growlers as a pro and sign a standard player contract with them. While making 16 appearances with UConn Huskies he scored one goal; prior to this four years at University of Maine where he amassed 52 points in 95 games! With Dawe now signed on a standard player contract the Growlers anticipate him making an instantaneous impactful impact.

He holds four degrees, all obtained through part-time study. Additionally, he serves as a teacher with U3A (University of the Third Age) A – an organization catering to senior citizens.
