She earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from New Mexico Military Institute and master’s in college student personnel administration from Illinois State University. Additionally, she has experience working with high school and community college students.

Currently she teaches at College of the Desert while simultaneously thrift shopping and foiling her dachshund’s plans of world dominance. She currently resides with her husband in Oasis, California.

Adam Villalobos is an Assistant Professor of English at the University of North Texas. He offers undergraduate courses ranging from developmental reading to senior-level capstone literature seminars. Adam’s areas of research and teaching interest include twentieth and twenty-first century American literature, southern studies, Flannery O’Connor studies, horror, ecocriticism and ecologicalcriticism.

Additionally, he has presented at numerous national conferences as part of his studies; additionally he belongs to the Association for the Study of Southern Literature and Environment.

Personal Life

As an avid baker and foiler of his dachshund’s diabolical plans for world dominance, he enjoys baking in his free time as well as watching Real Madrid and Empire on television. Additionally, as an undergraduate majoring in Kinesiology he hopes to help children with disabilities become more physically active — like him – so they may develop additional motor skills while living longer, healthier lives.

He graduated from the University of Nevada before going on to receive his Ph.D. at Emory University, teaching undergraduate students from developmental reading courses through senior capstone literature seminars. His research interests focus on 20th and 21st century American literature, southern studies, ecocriticism and Flannery O’Connor as well as numerous national conferences where his papers have been presented. He currently teaches at University of North Texas Denton Campus.
