UC Santa Barbara Student Arian Eteghaei Out on Bail
A UC Santa Barbara student is accused of multiple counts of sexual assault and sexual penetration. Other charges include two counts of forcible oral copulation and false imprisonment with violence. These are both criminal offenses that involve holding someone against their will, and battery with a spouse. Authorities believe that similar crimes may have been committed by others in the community, even though these cases are not proven. Eteghaei has been released on bail.
He was not charged with any offenses and has been released on bail. He is still allowed to visit Santa Barbara County during his trial. He will be allowed to stay in the area for the duration of his trial, but he will not be permitted to visit the campus of UCSB or any of the residential areas in the Isla Vista area. He is wearing two bracelets on his wrist, one for monitoring his alcohol consumption, and another for tracking his GPS location.
