Austin Henry will join the Oklahoma Sooners baseball team as a right-handed pitcher after redshirting his one season at Wichita State and still having four years of eligibility left to use with them.
Skip Johnson and the Oklahoma staff made their initial mark in the transfer portal by recruiting Jace Miner from Wichita State; Henry is another solid addition to their pitching corps.
Early Life and Education
Austin Henry was born March 11, 1996 in Cibolo and currently plays 6’7″ small forward for Incarnate Word Cardinals of NCAA. He is the son of Nate and Tammy Henry and majors in business management.
Sidney Austin (1846-1906), second and fourth son of Thomas Austin of Barwon Park in Winchelsea Victoria was both a pastoralist and politician. He served on the inaugural council for Geelong Church of England Grammar School’s founding council and as member of South-Western Province local government council.
At the urging of his cousin Stephen F. Austin, Boliver came to Texas in 1831 and established Boliver Plantation on the Brazos River. Later he expanded his holdings by starting sheep breeding operations near Geelong such as Avalon Station near Avalon station stud merino flock.
Professional Career
Henry maintains an effective legal practice in Tidewater, Virginia specializing in personal injury, workers’ compensation defense and insurance litigation. Henry Austin’s notable works in New Haven included designing the City Hall and a library at Yale modeled on King’s College Chapel at Cambridge in England; also, Grove Street Cemetery Gateway Gate was his creation; additionally he designed several residential buildings and churches throughout New Haven.
John has earned numerous accolades and awards, such as a Master of Science from Syracuse University’s S.I. Now living in New York City with his wife and two children he enjoys snowboarding reading as hobbies in his free time and has an affinity for both family and sports – three passions shared among most New Yorkers!
Personal Life
Henry was very devoted to his family, taking great pleasure in mowing the lawn, grilling out, watching Westerns, and listening to bluegrass music. Additionally, Henry enjoyed being a tow truck driver – making friends that became like family along the way – ensuring no stranger ever crossed his path while always having time for anyone who needed assistance. Henry will surely be missed.
His first son Sidney Austin was an expert pastor and progressive citizen, serving on Geelong Grammar School council and as Mayor in 1904. Edwin Austin established a stud merino flock near Ararat before serving on Buninyong shire council and becoming its President.
He was also an influential member of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee and later traveled abroad as an Indian representative during the Bangladesh Liberation War to lobby on India’s behalf for support.
