Benjamin Kennedy has become one of the premier reporters covering the White House, celebrities and breaking news in Washington D.C. He currently reports for Local 10 News in DC.
He previously held the role of NASCAR’s Senior Vice President of Strategy and Innovation, wherein he oversaw the creation of their most dynamic schedule in over fifty years.
Early Life and Education
Benjamin Hall Kennedy was born at Summer Hill near Birmingham in 1804 to Rann Kennedy. From an early age he displayed an affinity for learning and poetry which was supported by his father.
At Harrow, he played an active role in reform movements as well as advocating access to university education for women – leading the establishment of Girton and Newnham colleges for them.
After leaving Harrow, he became headmaster of Shrewsbury School and regius professor of Greek at Cambridge. Additionally, he served as canon of Ely and wrote numerous books on classical learning – his Latin grammar being highly esteemed by schools throughout Britain.
Professional Career
After an impressive run behind the wheel, Bill France’s great grandson and current Managing Director of Racing Operations and International Development at NASCAR Bill France decided to transition into business side of racing operations and international development.
His duties at the Foundation include overseeing its seven grantmaking Programs. In particular, his work includes supporting low-income communities nationwide to address socioeconomic challenges.
In 2021, Kennedy Racing entered part-time for Daniel Dye into the ARCA Menards Series East for him and also participated in various late model races. Prior to that, they competed in NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and Gander Outdoors Truck Series competition, winning two races with K&N East while notching one victory with GOT Series.

He served as a volunteer coach for Salem Striders track and field team, along with his wife Angelyn. Together they taught youths the value of education and sports participation.
