The Best Vagabond Panels

While it’s rare to find a panel that’s completely blank, this collection of vagabond comics offers some amazing options. The Homunculus panel, for example, is a visual treat. It features fine lines that seem to form a crowd from afar. The use of diagonal and cross hatching also adds dimension and texture.

Vagabond is a Japanese martial arts manga series written by Takehiko Inoue. It depicts the life of the swordsman Musashi Miyamoto and is based on the novel Musashi by Eiji Yoshikawa. It has been serialized in the Japanese magazine Morning since September 1998 and has been collected into 37 tankobon volumes. Viz Media licensed the series for English release in Canada and the U.S., but the series is currently on an extended hiatus.

The Vagabond Vizbig Editions are larger and easier to read than Viz’s other releases. However, the glued binding can lead to image loss, especially with thicker volumes. This is especially true for panels that span multiple pages. It can also make panels look a bit garbled.

This panel is especially effective because it draws attention to the main characters. Fairies and branches serve as frames for the characters. A monster tears through a school hallway, and walls expand to accommodate the monster’s size. The use of black and gray in the background is surprisingly realistic. The monster lurking behind Koyomi is not a problem at all. This particular panel shows a striking contrast that makes it an ideal panel for a manga or anime.
