Bethany Hamilton’s Parents

Who are Bethany Hamilton’s parents? The famous surfer is the daughter of Cherilyn and David Hamilton. Her full name is Bethany Meilani Hamilton, which means “born to surf.” They were both film producers before becoming parents. Although she was raised in a religious family, her parents made sure that she learned about God and the importance of faith. They read her Bible stories and taught her about God’s love.

While a young child, Hamilton is a surfer and a member of Hanalei Surf Co. She is home-schooled and has beaten many more experienced surfers in competitions. In 2003, she won the age group and open division at the Local Motion/Ezekiel Surf Into Summer competition in Hawaii. The same year, she finished second in the open women’s division at the National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA) National Championships in San Clemente, California.

In February 1990, Hamilton began surfing. She even entered her first major surfing competition on Oahu. She won first place in the competition, but that won’t stop her from becoming better. But her first major life-changing experience came just months later: a fourteen-foot tiger shark attacked her on October 31, 1990. In spite of her scarring and traumatic trauma, she continued to pursue her dream of becoming a professional surfer.

In 2004, she met and hung out with the real Alana Blanchard. She later became an internationally recognized surfer, and her mother was the first witness to the attack. After winning the World Championship, she won many short board events. The film was an instant hit, and she was compared to AnnaSophia Robb. Her parents are proud of her accomplishments, and they continue to encourage her in her dreams.

The Hamilton family lives in Hawaii, where they raise two children. Their children, three brothers and one younger sister, have similar personalities. The Hamiltons’ two daughters both went to college. Her parents are still a source of inspiration for her. They are also involved in a full-time youth ministry.
