Clear Falls Football is Back and Ready to Play!

Clear Falls Football is back and ready to play! Last year’s team finished 22-0, despite losing their first two games. Coach Dave Thomas believes that the team is ready to compete for a district title. Clear Falls will be returning many of its key players, and will be seeking a district championship this season. This year’s team could do it, though. Here’s why. Clear Falls quarterback Alex Assarian could be a standout this season.

Head’s team has been in top form this season, with a 7-3 record. The Mustangs advanced to the Division II state semifinal last season, but fell short to eventual champion Austin Westlake. Clear Falls’ defense is more machine-like, limiting West Brook to only 148 yards despite scoring a touchdown on each of its first two drives. In addition, the Mustangs’ offensive line is stacked with talent. Hayden Conner and Bryce Foster are slated to go to Texas A&M.

Clear Falls finished last season 0-2, but made the playoffs for first time. Clear Falls defeated Katy Taylor in a varsity football game on Thursday, and now will play the winner of that game on Saturday. The regional championship game will also see the Knights face Shadow Creek or Clear Lake at Challenger Columbia Stadium. A win would be a huge boost for the Knights’ young but talented team. The playoffs are not over. Clear Falls’ schedule is packed with big games and high school football is no exception.
