Early Life and Education

Dan was raised in Tolland, Connecticut and attended Tolland High School before earning a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from West Point and holds both Master and Doctorate of Law degrees from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and Capella University respectively.

Dan has been an instrumental voice in Albany County and New York State against key injustices, leading efforts to fund indigent legal services and establish walk up COVID-19 testing facilities.

Dan Guard, a 20 year veteran of the Air Force and Air National Guard, boasts extensive operational tours as he led multiple units under his command in both forces. Furthermore, his achievements in security are numerous.

Professional Career

He currently works as the nighttime security guard at Fordham University’s fitness center and enjoys this role due to its higher pay, sense of responsibility and opportunity for human interaction on a daily basis. It also gives him enough flexibility in order to continue his studies.

Has held several specialized military roles, such as commander of an Air Defense battalion and director of operations for the National Guard Bureau. Furthermore, he served as command chaplain of USS Washington Strike Group in Japan before undertaking two six-month deployments within Seventh Fleet – becoming highly respected military leader with expertise in strategy and tactics.

Achievement and Honors

Dan served his country at Marine Safety Detachment in Minnesota where he experienced freezing conditions before going on to serve at Sector Mayport and Sector Jacksonville.

He constructed crucial taxiways and parking aprons in Chad, served as an instructor, mentored junior officers, was known for being hardworking, diligent, high-spirited and high-spirited; according to Shervell Stevenson of Maryland National Guard Honor Guard training staff he is meticulous in his approach and takes every job with passion and dedication.

Recently, New York National Guard’s top officer recognized several New York recruiters who had achieved their recruitment goals. Gen. Daniel Hokanson expressed his pride to see these Soldiers and Airmen receive recognition for their efforts; Gerard Daniel Worldwide received an Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Patriot Award from Pennsylvania Department of Defense’s Employer Support of Guard and Reserve Program.

Personal Life

Daniel is an avid reader who takes great joy in spending time with his family. Additionally, Daniel enjoys playing guitar and singing; both activities he participates in regularly at his church.

He also enjoys spending his free time outdoors and giving back to the community, volunteering at numerous homeless shelters as well as serving on several military committees.

Family is of paramount importance in his life; his loving wife and children have always been there to support him during difficult times. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he participated in county-level contact tracing protocols as well as walk-up testing facilities as well as food delivery programs for families living under quarantine – one of his most challenging yet rewarding roles yet.
