Daniel Carpinelli – A New Paltz Police Officer, Investigator, and President of the Police Benevolent Association
Danny had an infectious laugh and was always ready to lighten the mood. He was committed to his community and supported Gina with her small business ventures.
He was president of the New Paltz police union at the time of his death, only months away from retirement.
Early Life and Education
Dan Carpinelli hails from Kingston, NY and graduated with honors from State University of New York at New Paltz. For over two decades he was dedicated member of the New Paltz Police Department. He served his community with honor and distinction as a patrol officer, investigator, and president of the Police Benevolent Association. His generous spirit will be missed by family and friends alike. Instead of sending flowers, his family requests donations be made in his memory to the New Paltz Police Association. He is survived by Gina Vaccarino as his former spouse; daughters Sydney Carpinelli Jolly of Kerhonkson and Olivia Grace Carpinelli from New Paltz; brother Michael P. Carpinelli with his wife Vickie and daughter Nicolette all from Redfield, NY;
Professional Career
Daniel Carpinelli served the New Paltz community with distinction for over 20 years as a police officer with New Paltz, NY, serving with distinction and honor during this time. A dedicated family man and community volunteer, Daniel will be dearly missed. When not serving his community or his family he enjoyed hunting, fishing and scuba diving; helping his wife Gina run her business at The Cake Artist Cafe & Deli was his passion too.
Dan was also an accomplished athlete and passionate supporter of both law enforcement and military service. He leaves behind his daughter Sydney Carpinelli Jolly from Kerhonkson, New York; Gina Vaccarino his wife from New Paltz; his brothers Michael P Carpinelli with Vickie (deceased), Steve Carpinelli of Redfield NY as well as numerous friends and relatives.
Achievement and Honors
Carpinelli enjoyed fishing and golf as hobbies during his free time, serving in the Knights of Columbus as a fourth degree member, long residing in Pt. Washington and leaving behind his wife Maria, daughters Sydney and Olivia as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and nieces and nephews behind. Donations may be made in his memory to Our Lady of Fatima Church Restoration Fund at 6 Cottonwood Rd, Pt. Washington NY 11050 in lieu of sending flowers.
Lacey Jacobson, Yannis Mansour, Kayla Napoli, Daniel Garduno, Landon Kruppa, Alfonso Pacheca and Emma Rufo all received graduation honors. Other academic scholarship recipients were Paul Ramirez, Alexandra Bazianos and Michael Yelich; Paul also received a wireless lavalier microphone as a gift donated by their class.
Personal Life
As well as his professional life, Dan was also a passionate outdoor enthusiast who relished fishing, hunting and scuba diving. Additionally, he was devoted to his family and will be greatly missed by many.
Dan Carpinelli was a true gentleman and dedicated police officer for over 20 years with the New Paltz police force, always placing others first and putting his community before himself. All who knew and admired him will miss his wonderful service to society.
Dan was married to Gina Vaccarino and had two daughters: Sydney Carpinelli Jolly of Kerhonkson and Olivia Grace Carpinelli from New Paltz. Additionally, he had many friends and relatives that loved him dearly. Unfortunately, Dan passed away from viral encephalitis on July 16th; therefore his family requires financial assistance as soon as possible.
