Daniel Mowry was born in Gelnhausen, Germany to Timothy and Darlene Mowry on July 6, 1978. She has two younger brothers – actor Tahj Mowry and musician Tavior Mowry. Daniel comes from a close-knit and very spiritual family; Daniel and her sister Tamera became born-again Christians at eight.
In the early ’90s, she and her sister participated in pageants and talent shows while their mother was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. At twelve, they convinced their mother to move them all west to California so that they could pursue acting careers – as long as they found employment within one month after arriving there.
She voiced Sasha in the animated series Bratz and later made her television debut as Melanie Barnett on BET television show The Game. Furthermore, she hosts her podcast Mostly Mom with Tia and co-stars with her twin sister on Netflix’s sitcom Family Reunion.
