Early Life and Education
david branding was born in Dongara, Western Australia, the eldest of four children of Albert John Brand and his wife Hilda Mitchell. He attended a number of schools in the area before settling on a farm near Mullewa in 1924.
He is an avid fan of Milwaukee sports teams, and has volunteered his time to various charitable organizations over the years, including Operation DREAM, the Journey House, and the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee and Kenosha. Dockterman is an expert in the field of effective education, having authored numerous books, and his research includes projects tackling early literacy, effective math instruction, adult development, and civic engagement. He is also a judge for the Global Learning XPRIZE, and he recently helped curate Scholastic’s Rising Voices Library.
David has worked in a wide range of professional fields. He started his career in blue chip Consumer Packaged Goods marketing and then ventured into a more entrepreneurial track running a multi-location automotive repair business before founding Pitch In For Baseball and Softball, a non-profit organization that provides youth sports equipment throughout the United States.
In addition to his work as a designer and instructor, david branding also serves as the Director of Design for the Cleveland marketing firm Acclaim Communications. He also teaches in the School of Visual Communication Design (VCD) program at Kent State University. He earned a combined BS/MA degree from the VCD program in 2007. Today, david branding combines his experience as a designer and educator to create brand-centric designs that are accessible and useful for all audiences.

One of david’s most interesting endeavors has been the creation of a new logo that was a little bit different than the usual. It incorporated a new mascot, an acronym and a fancy new tagline. It was a fun project that has been well received by employees around the world. In fact, one employee said that it was her favorite part of the day. Besides, it was the slickest thing she’d ever seen, and she’s always proud to tell her friends and family about it.
