David Kocur was a professional hockey player for the Detroit Red Wings, known for his physical play and being one of the most penalized players in NHL history.
He was part of the original “Grind Line,” alongside Kris Draper and Kirk Maltby, that helped the Wings capture consecutive Stanley Cup Championships in 1997 and 1998.
Kocur’s two seasons in Maroon and White saw him accumulate 100 points in 94 games. Additionally, his contribution helped push the Bombers within two wins of reaching the SJHL finals in 1996, scoring 18 goals and contributing 35 points over 16 playoff contests.
