Early Life and Education
David Lach is an acclaimed poet, writer and artist renowned for his work. He has received multiple awards in recognition of his efforts and is widely recognized as a pioneer in ornithology.
He completed his education at Gresham’s School, Holt and Magdalene College, Cambridge where he earned a degree in natural sciences. Subsequently he served as professorial fellow at Trinity College, Oxford.
He was a member of the British Trust for Ornithology, a nonprofit scientific research and conservation organization founded in 1932. Additionally, he served on the committee that organized a heathland census inquiry in 1933. A passionate Darwinian, his work helped shape the synthesis between evolutionary biology and ecology; additionally he wrote numerous books about birds’ behavior.
David Lach has dedicated his professional career to fighting poverty and serving the underserved, ensuring our democratic protections reach those most in need. A leader within the public interest community, his passion for law allows him to use it effectively so justice is accessible for all.
He spent his career at O’Melveny as an attorney, specializing in complex business litigation and public policy disputes. Furthermore, he managed the firm’s national and international pro bono program, creating policies and procedures that have enabled this renowned initiative to grow exponentially.
He served as coach at Carver, Atkins and East Forsyth high schools in North Carolina and was an active promoter of tennis. In 1997-98 he was inducted into the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame with his teammates.
Achievements and Honors
The Village of Elmwood Park is proud to recognize the accomplishments of several local high school seniors who earned themselves some prestigious awards. Most notably, they won the award for best overall senior class in Illinois. Additionally, top graduates were recognized in various categories such as student body grad ratio, number of graduates graduating with honors, average grade point average (GPA on track) and percentage of college enrollees.
Other prominent honorees included Kassandra Babelonia (Elmwood Park High School), Gregory Baranovskiy, Miranda Barajas, Daniel Gomez, Analise Hernandez, Yuriy Khlopas and Rocco Molinelli. Finally, we would like to extend a special mention to EPHS alumni who were unable to attend the ceremonies due to various reasons; we wish them all the best in their future endeavors!
David Lach is a dentist who treats patients with crooked teeth, crossbite and other dental issues in Oviedo, Florida.
He graduated from the University of Florida College of Dentistry with over 31 years of experience, and is board certified in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
He is a member of both the American Association of Orthodontists and International Association of Orthodontists, as well as affiliated with several hospitals. Additionally, he holds a part-time assistant professorship in orthodontics at University of Florida College of Dentistry.
