David Leanza is an esteemed public sector attorney and associate clinical professor at Loyola Law School. His practice areas include municipal law, including representation of cities on matters such as Political Reform Acts, Brown Acts, ethics rules and election law. Furthermore, he serves on Best Best & Krieger’s Public Sector Team.

Early Life and Education

David Leonza was a true master of his instrument: playing the violin. In fact, it became so good that he pursued it full time, earning numerous accolades including Principal Second Violinist of the National Philharmonic and First Violinist of Baltimore Choral Arts Society. On top of all that, David also enjoys philanthropy with minimal stress!

Professional Career

David leanza is a highly experienced attorney with extensive experience serving as deputy city attorney to cities throughout Southern California. He holds an appointment as associate clinical professor at Loyola Law School and belongs to BB&K’s Public Practice & Ethics Group.

David was previously employed as a Deputy City Attorney for Downey and an assistant city attorney for various Southern California cities. A member of the Association of Deputy City Attorneys, he also serves as chapter editor for The California Municipal Law Handbook.

He is also a freelance violinist, performing with orchestras and ensembles such as Maryland Lyric Opera and Baltimore Choral Arts Orchestra. Additionally, he has shared the stage with world-renowned musicians like Andrea Bocelli, Kristin Chenowith, Jennifer Hudson, and Harry Connick Jr.

Achievements and Honors

David Leanza is an accomplished musician. He runs his own private violin studio and has mentored hundreds of young students, many of whom have gone on to hold leadership positions in school, local, county and state youth orchestras. He is the author of numerous books on music and has received numerous awards for his works. A member of Yale University Alumni Association, he previously served on the Board of Directors for American Institute of Musical Studies. He was awarded the Bessie Stak Schiffman Award for Academic Achievement in Women’s Studies, honoring his grandmother’s commitment to her community. Additionally, he was named a William Mallory Athlete – Yale’s highest athletic award given to senior men – and received both the Founders Award and William Mallory Athlete titles. Additionally, these distinctions recognize outstanding contributions made by an individual towards both their community and Drew University itself.

Personal Life

David Leanza is an accomplished artist renowned for his hyper-realistic dinosaur models. He has created several prehistoric creatures for museums and theme parks, such as the 16mt Spinosaurus featured on National Geographic’s cover.

He is an accomplished violinist who has performed with some of the world’s greatest musicians. She is currently serving as Principal Second Violinist of the National Philharmonic and a first violinist for Maryland Lyric Opera Orchestra and Baltimore Choral Arts Orchestra.
