Interview With David Leffler
David Leffler has an extensive background in both high-level government contracting and law, making him a great candidate for an internship with the Marine Corps. Furthermore, his knowledge of defense technology is second to none; he has written articles about it for various publications.
He earned his degrees from Princeton University and the Institute for War Research, and currently works as an Associate at Proteus Management Group at the Center for Strategic Leadership at US Army War College. An accomplished author, he has published Safeguarding Democratic Nationalism: U.S Foreign Policy and National Security from 1920-2015 (Princeton).
Early Life and Education
David Leffler was born in Konigsberg, Germany and was raised in a traditional environment. His father was an influential judge and mother a merchant; this set the stage for structured childhood with only occasional trips away for vacations. As a result, David developed into an accomplished musician.
Despite this, he developed an interest in Middle Eastern history and culture. Ultimately, he earned a Bachelor’s in Politics from Princeton University as well as a Master’s in Statecraft and National Security Affairs from the Institute of World Politics.
He spent five years as a defense contractor, and is currently studying to become an MBA at New York University’s Stern School of Business. A Marine Corps veteran and passionate advocate for public health and environmental causes, he has written for The Washington Post and Texas Monthly magazines.
Professional Career
Mr Leffler is currently a partner at Cirio Law Firm and heads up their trademark and design group. With an impressive list of awards and accolades under his belt, David’s most recent endeavor involves rebranding from a boutique intellectual property specialist to a full service national law firm – something which he readily embraces as a true jack-of-all-trades who can do it all.
Personal Life
David Leffler is a Texas-based journalist who specializes in long-form features and politics. His work has been featured in publications such as Washington Post, Texas Observer, and Texas Monthly magazine.
David has a deep-seated passion for travel. He’s conquered mountains, scaled rivers and white-water rafting in the Pacific.
He is a member of Public Health Watch, an organization dedicated to environmental and political concerns. Additionally, he writes for Texas Monthly and Pacific Standard magazines.
He is a proud father to two sons and a daughter, as well as his parents, sisters, and step-siblings. Predeceased by his maternal grandparents James and Dorothy Weaver, he leaves behind only his proud legacy.
