Originally from Britain, david proctor came to the United States to pursue his dream of being an elite long-distance runner. He began to suffer from homesickness, pressure to perform and the beginnings of a life-threatening eating disorder.

Quatromoni and Proctor worked together to help the athlete normalize his eating habits and address distorted thoughts. They also shared their experiences on the speaking circuit, including at a sports science summit in England and two conferences for sports dietitians.

Early Life and Education

At age 18, David Proctor was a promising British long-distance runner who had been awarded an athletics scholarship to Boston University. But the pressures of athletic competition quickly eroded his confidence and began to affect his eating habits.

When he sought help, he turned to Boston University School of Education nutritionist Jennifer Quatromoni. The two had a relationship that was both professional and personal, says Quatromoni.

She and Proctor worked together over a summer to address distorted thinking and normalize his eating behaviors. As she recalls, “It was a life-changing experience for both of us.”

Professional Career

As President of Experian Partner Solutions, David Proctor is responsible for leading Experian’s strategic direction and driving change initiatives that are designed to achieve long term business goals. As part of his responsibilities, David also leads a team that develops new product innovation, market expansion and technology initiatives.

As a President, David’s focus is on building and empowering teams. He believes that every member of an organization is unique and it’s important to tweak your talent agenda to suit their needs, wants, goals and motivations.

During his tenure as the National Premier Leagues and Boys Select Director at Tormenta FC, Proctor is excited to work alongside Technical Director Derek Broadley to continue daily development of coaches and players in order to help them achieve their soccer potential. He hopes that the club’s ultimate goal is for players to develop as individuals on a soccer path that may lead to professional play in the USL leagues.

He also believed that education was about learning through doing. He encouraged students to take risks, challenge themselves and learn from failure. He believed that this was the best way to prepare them for life after high school.
