Early Life and Education
Emily Oliver is an art sophomore at NAU who primarily works in ceramics. Her inspiration comes from nature – specifically trees and flowers – with trees being her main source of inspiration as she strives to become a professional artist after graduating.
Alix and her siblings were raised largely at home, apart from one year at Clergy Daughters’ School on Cowan Bridge in Lancashire. At that school they found inspiration in each other’s vivid imaginations and inclusion of disturbing material in their novels, which caused some offence among 19th-century society.
O’Connor’s film follows fictionalized Emily’s struggle for independence within and outside her family. O’Connor uses pictorial beauty, economical scenes and naturalistic dialogues to craft an intense drama with shifting gazes that is meaningful and gripping.
Emily Oliver of Access Legal was recently honored with a Modern Law Awards 2023 Paralegal of the Year award for her outstanding commitment and passion in providing tailored professional services tailored to her clients’ individual needs.
Her research is divided into two broad areas. She first investigates motivation during crises and how it can be sustained and strengthened over time. Second, she is fascinated by why different people cope differently; with an eye toward mental health outcomes as an outcome measure.
She currently teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses on twentieth-century German history, publishes multiple books, including Beyond Enemy Lines: Literature and Film in British and American Occupied Germany which was supported by a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship award.
Achievement and Honors
Emily Oliver found an early interest in math while living in Frazier Park. She quickly completed “mad minute” multiplication exercises and quickly rose through elementary school rankings as one of the top math students. At high school and college level, Emily excelled in all her courses. For her senior seminar presentation, she studied Fibonacci sequence and earned an overall GPA of 3.99.
She is an active member of her church, volunteering her services as a leadership speaker at local schools. Additionally, she has raised funds for physically challenged athletes and built playhouses through Habitat for Humanity.
Oliver saw both track and field teams double their participation in the NCAA Outdoor East Preliminary Round and over two dozen student-athletes earn All-MEAC recognition during her inaugural year as director. She also oversaw two cross country teams’ success.
Emily Oliver is a poet, essayist and academic. Her works have been featured in multiple journals and earned various awards such as a Sicca Grant and Corson-Browning Poetry Prize. Additionally, Emily’s anthologies such as Poems That Went to School have received great critical acclaim.
Lilly Truscott was one of Miley Stewart’s closest confidantes and companions on Hannah Montana for three and four seasons, respectively. Additionally, she appeared as Taylor Hillridge in Cyberbully (2011) and Roxie on Cleaners (2014).
At NAU, she majors in studio art focusing on ceramics. When out walking trails or mentally noting surroundings for future works of poetry. Additionally, she holds credentialed personal training certification and believes in the complementary relationship between diet and exercise.
Emily Oliver has been with Coldwell Banker Realty – Gundaker Ladue Office since 2015 and takes pride in providing high levels of service to her clients. She enjoys taking time to understand what matters to them most and customizing their experience accordingly.
