Gayle King is an American author and television personality. She hosts the CBS morning show CBS Mornings. She is also an editor-at-large at O, the Oprah Magazine. She is known for sharing her personal experiences with her viewers. King is also an author and is the author of The Gayle King Way, My Story

King began her career as a production assistant at WJZ-TV in Baltimore. King went on to become 18-years special correspondent for “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” King was featured 141 time during the show’s existence. In 1991, she co-hosted the NBC daytime talk show “Cover to Cover.” The Gayle King Show, her syndicated talk show, was launched the following year. This program aired from Kansas City and was later canceled due to its lack of popularity.

The interview aired on all broadcasts and in the primetime special. The interview featured Paul Ryan, former House Speaker, and Amy Schumer, actress.

King has received numerous awards for her work in journalism. She is a member of both the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame and has won three Emmys. She has also been named a Time 100 honoree by Variety Magazine. She has also worked with several nonprofit organizations, including SEO Scholars.

King has covered numerous major stories, including George Floyd’s murder, the Derek Chauvin verdict, the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, and the Pulse nightclub shooting in 2016. King doesn’t have any family wealth but she still makes over $10 million per annum at CBS. Her salary has increased more than four-fold over the last decade, and she recently signed a new contract that will make her earn an additional eleven million per year. The new contract was signed in January. It’s not known whether she’ll stay with the network. But King hasn’t ruled out other offers.
