Gregory Havican, Owner of Liz and George Farms, Appears in Court for Preliminary Hearing

On Tuesday morning, Gregory Havican, the owner of Liz and George Farms in North Easton, appeared in court for a preliminary hearing to face charges of animal abuse at his farm. If found guilty, Havican will go on trial later this year.

At the hearing, several witnesses testified and unanimously agreed on one thing: The conditions of dogs and animals at the farm were cruel and inhumane.

Early Life and Education

George was born in Bethesda, Maryland to Ellen Bradley Watson and George H. Watson, Jr.

At an early age, he decided to become a teacher of young children. After graduating from Oberlin College in Ohio, he earned his master’s degree from Bank Street Graduate School of Education in New York City.

He taught lower grades at the Spence School in Manhattan, Capitol Hill Day School in Washington and Lancaster Country Day School in Pennsylvania. His teaching style was known as “Storyline,” which involves pupils in multidisciplinary lessons that emphasize storytelling rather than lectures.

George was renowned for his kind and compassionate personality, which made him an immensely popular teacher. He loved spending time with his family and had an infectious sense of humor.

Professional Career

George has achieved great success in the entertainment industry, but he also earns recognition for his charitable works. Most notably, he serves on the Board of Directors at St Vincent De Paul – America’s largest not-for-profit social service provider – where he holds a seat of honor.

He is renowned for his involvement in the charitable efforts of his family and friends, sharing his interests in music, literature and science with them. Aside from these roles, he’s an accomplished amateur historian with an affinity for reading material from a well-stocked library. Most importantly, he has enjoyed many memorable times spent with those closest to him during the difficult days of the Great Depression.

George Havican is an illustrious individual who has earned many distinctions and honors throughout his career. He was awarded the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and widely regarded as one of Washington DC’s most influential media figures.

He has also been featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who in the East. Married to Ellen Havican Bradley, he is the proud parent of two children.

He is an animal enthusiast and enjoys reading. He also has a knack for gymnastics, with plans to become a coach. At present, he’s studying animal behavior and psychology with an interest in wildlife preservation, plus has an affinity for the Washington Redskins football team.

Personal Life

George Havican was a man of compassion, gentleness and kindheartedness. He was the sole survivor of his family of six; his sister Ellen passed away in 2006 due to cancer.

He had a passion for teaching, as well as music; he was part of a garage band that played East Village clubs and released three CDs. Utilizing this passion as motivation, he created an educational program to teach students how to write and perform songs.

He had an aptitude for multi-tasking, as evidenced by his attendance at his first college graduation party before his sophomore year had ended. Furthermore, he enjoyed travelling and discovering new cultures. Aside from teaching, he also volunteered his services to the local fire department and several charity organizations.
