Jack Bowen works at Shore Capital Partners, a microcap private equity firm. In this capacity he is responsible for conducting due diligence on potential investment opportunities as well as initiating value creation strategies across portfolio investments.

Bowen earned two All-American water polo honors at Stanford and served as an alternate goalie on the Olympic Team. Additionally, he taught philosophy classes and created and ran Stanford Summer Philosophy Camp.

Jack Bowen is an author, water polo coach and professor. He has published four philosophically themed books and been teaching philosophy at Menlo School and Stanford Summer Philosophy Camp for the last twenty years. Additionally he created and runs his own book club as well as giving frequent talks on sports philosophy.

He is the beloved father of Jeffrey and Jen Bowen-Flynn and loving grandfather to Sawyer and Delaney-Rae Bowen.

Old Xavier Club President Jack Egan played 131 games and helped bring back from low ebb during his presidency, returning it from its previous low point. Egan has been one of the club’s most loyal members for over 60 years – his contributions are immeasurable and invaluable to this club.

Professional Career

Bowen was an award-winning water polo player at Stanford and NCAA MVP. Since then he has published four philosophically themed books. Additionally, he currently teaches philosophy at Menlo School while simultaneously coaching water polo and winning national coaching awards.

Omar Aguirre was honored to be named 2022 National High School Baseball Coach of the Year and multiple State and Sectional Coach of the Year awards during his coaching career. Additionally, he was recently inducted into Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Bowen claims in his lawsuit against UTMB that their firing was in response to his complaints of sexual harassment by Erwin; however, as there is no proof of Puente knowing about Erwin being responsible, summary judgment on his Title VII Retaliation claim should be granted.

Achievement and Honors

Bowen found great success as both a player and coach after leaving college basketball behind, amassing an outstanding record at Silo, Bokchito and Rock Creek where his teams made multiple trips to state tournaments. Furthermore, his girls basketball record stands at 170-61 while 381-166 for boys basketball games are both impressive marks he boasted as an accomplished coach.

Bowen reached 2,000 wins during his 36th year coaching this week and overtook Latta’s Eddie Collins as the national high school coach with 2,00 victories. To mark this momentous accomplishment, OK Prep Nation recognized him with their Lifetime Achievement Award alongside brother Randy and uncle Murl; it is especially meaningful given baseball runs through their veins! This honor brings prideful recognition of baseball through their family bonds.

Personal Life

Bowen was an enthusiastic sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his family. A member of both American Legion and VFW, he served as coach to various high school teams including Silo, Bokchito and Rock Creek; earning All-American status in 1979 while building up an impressive coaching legacy.

He is the beloved father of Jeffrey and Jen Bowen-Flynn and will be greatly missed by their families and friends. His role as “Papa” to Sawyer Dane Bowen-Flynn and Delaney Rae Bowen will also be greatly missed by everyone in their lives.

Jack has published four philosophically-themed books. Additionally, he teaches philosophy at Menlo School in Atherton, California and directs Stanford Summer Philosophy Camp; additionally he advocates for positive coaching practices and ethical behavior within sports.
