Jared Yates American Idol

Jared Yates’s American Idol Finalist

One of the most exciting aspects of watching the fourth season of American Idol is seeing the contestants battle it out in front of a live audience. It is also one of the most difficult auditions for a career in show business. The competition was stiff and the judges have been doing their job admirably. In fact, a large number of contestants have been eliminated, making way for the finalists. However, this year’s finalists aren’t the most impressive.

The competition was not without its fair share of controversies. Jared Yates was one of them. While the show’s most seasoned competitors honed their craft in Los Angeles, Yates made his way down the California coast to Laguna Beach where he performed in an elaborate Bruno Mars tribute act. He has also worked on other projects like the pop/rock band The Refiners and another cover act. But, his real passion lies in the music industry. Besides performing, he produces and engineers musical compositions and has a knack for the keyboard. As a side gig, he has lent his talents to other projects such as the venerable Bruno Mars Tribute Band.

Jared Yates’s American Idol entry was not the most enticing. The contestant was not given the same amount of attention as the competition, despite his high scores in the musical and artistic department. For this reason, the audition was a sleeper. This aforementioned lack of attention may have influenced the judges’ decision to boot him. After all, he received the lowest score of the week. Despite the setback, he did perform a number of other gimmicks to make his case. Among them was a “Green Mile” type of walk down the runway and a musical display on a grand scale. And, of course, he did not get to sing in the Fischer Theatre.

Aside from the gimmicks, Jared also did not have to worry about his bottomless pit of despair. Fortunately, he was able to get the necessary help from his family and friends. With a little luck and a lot of hard work, the star of the show can soon make his grand exit.

While this was not the American Idol Season 4 grand finale, it was nonetheless a swell way to wind down the proceedings. At the end of the day, the final 12 finalists will take their shot at becoming the next American Idol. Hopefully, they can pull it off and come out the other side of the competition with some shiny new prizes in tow.
