Joel Ravin, 30, Was Shot Multiple Times Outside His Home on Sunday

Police reports show the suspect then pulled out a gun and shot Ravin several times in his arm, side, back, and neck, before fleeing in a red two-door car.

Lana Ravin told media outlets that her son knew his attacker and was shot while still sitting in his vehicle. According to Lana, one bullet lodged itself into Ravin’s kidney, with another striking him near his spinal cord.

Professional Career

Ravin was a personal trainer for NBA players and also taught at University of California Los Angeles before creating his own fitness brand with holistic yet rigorous training methods.

Ravin made his MLB debut with the Los Angeles Dodgers on June 2, 2015 and quickly won his debut game despite finding difficulty adapting to his fastball’s limited vertical movement. Opposing hitters quickly adjusted to its unique characteristics.
