John Glaetzer is an acclaimed Australian winemaker and has collaborated with some of Australia’s greatest names in the industry. He’s best known for his premium red wine label – John’s Blend – which earned him widespread recognition.

This became reality when they produced their first Cabernet Sauvignon in 1994, followed by the rich and intense Margarete Shiraz in 1995. These wines are limited edition and pay homage to Australia’s finest winegrowing regions through limited production quantities.

On Monday at Northeastern’s Academic Honors Convocation, students, faculty and staff were honored for their remarkable achievements and contributions to the university. Honored guests included Presidential Global Fellows, graduate research scholars and young alumni who have helped push the university forward by expanding experiential learning around the world, concentrating research efforts on areas of strength and recruiting outstanding interdisciplinary scholars.

Personal Life

John and Alice are a close-knit family, with an appreciation of music and dance that runs deep within them. Married for over 50 years, the couple has two children. Additionally, John and Alice have a philanthropic spirit; their charitable foundation helps children in need as well as those within their local community.
