In the midst of his impressive career, he took time out of his busy schedule to improve the lives of Nepalese migrant workers through an internship with the Center for Migration and International Relations. This experience inspired him to pursue law school at Penn, where he has been working on human rights and immigration matters ever since.

He’s an enthusiastic computer programmer and has co-authored more than 30 refereed conference and journal papers in computer architecture (ASIC and FPGA based domain-specific accelerators, nonvolatile memories, processor design) as well as distributed systems. Additionally, he holds the distinction of Boeing Designated Expert for engineering software; making Python his go-to programming language of choice.

Personal Life

John Peng was a legendary Chinese military leader and Defense Minister. An ally of Chairman Mao Zedong, he took part in the Korean War as one of China’s defenders.

Peng began his career as a soldier in Chiang Kai-shek’s Nationalist army and served until 1926, when he joined the Communist Party. Thereafter, he led an unit that pillaged and murdered Hunan landowners to establish the Hunan Provincial Soviet Government.

In 1940, Peng led a massive Communist offensive against Japanese logistic networks in northern China that was ultimately successful; however, political disputes between his faction and that of the Kuomintang ultimately forced his return to Yan’an.

Net Worth

Peng is an acclaimed serial entrepreneur and business executive. He founded sportswear label FUBU two decades ago, and since has ventured into various other businesses.

He’s also an entrepreneur in the cryptocurrency space, having helped establish Binance as the world’s largest crypto exchange. As of February 2023, his net worth is estimated to be $10 billion.

Peng’s rise from poverty to riches has been compared to Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook. Although his fortune did dip slightly in 2021, he remains one of Asia’s wealthiest men. Despite this success, much about Peng remains unknown; his personal life remains hidden behind an Instagram account which rarely gets attention. It is likely his net worth will continue to fluctuate, but he remains incredibly wealthy regardless.
