Early Life and Education

John Sory was raised in an agricultural community. He attended public school and developed his literacy through reading.

He was eventually diagnosed with dyslexia, a disorder that causes difficulties reading and writing. Despite this setback, his motivation to learn never wavered.

He also began teaching his classmates how to read and write at a young age.

He also studied philosophy and wrote numerous books on the topic, such as How We Think and Democracy and Education.

John Sory was an accomplished professional with over 15 years of management experience and served as CEO for Vohra Wound Physicians & Associates (VWPA). Throughout his illustrious career, he donned many hats. Among other honors, he was elected to the National Academy of Sciences and fellow of American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), as well as receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award presented by W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University for volunteering activities and corporate contributions for over ten years. As a proud father to four children, John will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him best.

On April 11, 2019 he tragically passed away at the age of 58.
