Kincade Henry Makes It to the National Finals Rodeo

Hometown cowboy Kincade Henry returned from Las Vegas to a warm reception. Not only had he earned buckles and prize money, but more importantly he successfully navigated his first National Finals Rodeo event.

Now he is the reigning college champion in tie-down roping and ranks eighth on the PRCA World Standings.

Early Life and Education

Kincade Henry grew up in Mount Pleasant, Texas with hard work and determination on his mind to reach the National Finals Rodeo. Surrounded by positive influences who helped keep his goals on track he set out on his path towards greatness.

He had competed in college rodeos and won multiple titles. But he still wanted more. R.E. Josey encouraged him to transition from collegiate rodeo and enter professional rodeo.

Kincade has made Mount Pleasant and Northeast Texas proud. He’s thankful for all of the support received while in Las Vegas and hopes to continue growing and inspiring others – living by the maxim “Don’t fear failure; be terrified of staying exactly where you are a year later”.

Professional Career

Kincade Henry has made quite an impression in rodeo circles. At the 2022 College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR), he won a national championship in men’s tie-down roping. Additionally, he received the Nothin’ But Try Scholarship which honors NFR bull rider Shane Drury.

Macon Murphy and him together earned a combined total of $25,882 in Las Vegas to place them 14th and 15th respectively on the world rankings.

After their virus-shortened season that left them without qualification for the Women’s National Fishing League Finals (WNFR), Henry and his partner Regan rebounded by staying focused and returning to Las Vegas this year where they collected $4,500 from Bracket 3 with an 8.1 second run time in Bracket 3, Henry setting his fastest time ever of 8.15 seconds which earned them entry into Semifinals where he ultimately placed eighth.

Achievement and Honors

Kincade Henry has earned international renown for his innovative ideas throughout his career. From developing high-rise apartments to renovating historic downtown buildings, his focus has always been on creating strong communities and sustainable environments that serve people as well as their environment long after construction has concluded.

Kincade Henry from Mount Pleasant, Texas made history at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper Wyoming by becoming national tie-down roping champion – Roping for Panola College he took home this award and credits his success to coach Jeff Collins, an ex-PRCA bareback rider himself.

Kincade has an older sister, Keely, who also competes in college rodeo. Keely will be cheering him on at this year’s College National Finals with Melody as they cheer her brother Kincade along.

Personal Life

Kincade Henry returned from competing in his inaugural National Finals Rodeo to an enthusiastic reception on Monday morning in Las Vegas, with buckles, prize money and new fans to show for his efforts.

Chad and Melody Henry reside in Mount Pleasant, Texas with three children; Keely is also active in rodeo and she attends Chapel Hill High School where she serves on both FFA chapter reporting teams as well as student council.

Last year, Keely and Kincade qualified for the Canadian National Finals Roping (CNFR). This year, the two won Panola College in Carthage Texas’ tie-down roping national championship and tied for 14th worldwide in world standings at this event.
