Net worth measures the difference between an individual’s total assets and liabilities. It can be calculated by tallying up all their valuables such as stocks, real estate and savings accounts; and subtracting all debts such as student loans, mortgage payments or credit card balances.
There are various strategies to increase one’s net worth, including investing in assets with potential long-term appreciation and decreasing debts. But keep in mind that net worth will only rise if one has assets exceeding liabilities.
