Noah Shockley and Brody Shockley Talk About Their Seasons

Noah remains in ICU with extra heart beats (PVC’s). They have him taking medications to control these and it seems to be working. Additionally, his loving family and caregivers provide invaluable support as he goes through this challenging time.

Jason Shockley has been sentenced to life imprisonment for stabbing two of his elderly neighbors, Ben King and Garry Ballis.

Early Life and Education

Noah and Brody Shockley grew up together in West Ocean City and started playing soccer as toddlers, according to their mother Susie. From an early age it was evident that Noah would become the goalkeeper while Brody would become more of a field player – roles which have since been clearly divided amongst them both on their Stephen Decatur boys soccer team as well as River Soccer and Henlopen Soccer clubs.

Shockley shared the 1956 Nobel Prize in Physics with John Bardeen and Walter Brattain for their groundbreaking research into semiconductor devices that could replace vacuum tubes more effectively and efficiently. After receiving their prize, Shockley founded his Semiconductor Laboratory in Mountain View, California.

Noah has begun taking medication to address his PVCs. They hope that over time this should allow them to bring down his extra heartbeats.

ECCC recognized two men’s soccer players after an outstanding season as Noah Shockley earned North Division First Team All-MACCC and midfielder Jashil Vithal was recognized with Honorable Mention All-MACCC honors. Shockley led his Warriors backline throughout the year and led them to two shutout victories this year.

Student who complete the requirements for graduation with Honors are recognized with academic distinction by receiving cum laude, magna cum laude or summa cum laude recognition (link is external). This academic acknowledgment becomes part of their official record and noted on both transcripts and diplomas.

Nonacademic awards or honors such as athletic achievements and community service should be listed under Activities rather than Honors and Awards in order to keep the list from becoming too lengthy and diffused.

Personal Life

Noah and Brody Shockley first took up soccer as toddlers. From goalkeeping duties for Noah to field player roles for Brody, mother Susie Shockley says. As juniors on Stephen Decatur boys team they still enjoy playing together: she said Noah excels as goalkeeper while Brody serves as more of an outside midfielder.

Noah was admitted to Randall Children’s Hospital in Seattle on October 26 due to extra heart beats that caused his heart rhythm to become irregular, known as ventricular tachycardia (VT). Since being prescribed medication he is doing better but remains in ICU.

He began his football career with the Atlanta Falcons before moving onto Omaha Nighthawks. Following retirement, he entered media as an anchor/ reporter at WAGA-TV (Fox 5 Atlanta) since 2021.

Shockley is happily married to Portia Phillips, his high school sweetheart, and they share one daughter together. Shockley regularly posts photos of his daughter on his Instagram account and recently sent out birthday wishes on behalf of all family members in his personal life.
