Oliver is a US-British comedian, writer, and political commentator best known as host of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart as well as presenter of Last Week Tonight. Oliver has earned numerous accolades throughout his career including seventeen Primetime Emmy Awards and seven Writers Guild of America (WGA) awards.

Achievement and Honors
Oliver is also actively engaged in community service. She serves as Executive Director for the School Social Work Association of America, providing support and advocating for school social workers. Oliver enjoys traveling with her husband, singing, running and home improvement projects.
Oliver has enjoyed watching students flourish at A-State. “I’ve found great satisfaction watching them discover their passions – whether that means becoming band members themselves, directors or other careers,” she noted.
Oliver has received many honors and awards during her career. Most notably, in 2015 she was presented the Oliver Marcy Scholarship to recognize outstanding academic achievement – this scholarship honoring one of Northwestern University’s professors of natural science.
Rebecca Oliver was the daughter of a butcher and an agricultural labourer; although born into lower class surroundings, Rebecca made the most out of every opportunity she was afforded.
She eventually become both an author and artist, her works being displayed in numerous galleries throughout Australia. Her art draws its inspiration from her immediate environment as well as creating pieces which reflect on life and the world we inhabit.
