Early Life and Education
Sterling Oliver will be deeply missed by his family and friends alike, due to his generous spirit and wise advice which have greatly benefitted many individuals. He always went the extra mile in making everyone feel special and appreciated.
Sterling-Oliver and Oliver Hall were acquired during an acute student enrollment surge during World War II as temporary solutions, until permanent accommodations could be constructed.
Oliver was raised within the funeral business. She watched her father dedicate himself to serving families during his irregular work hours. Now, with HD, they run their family’s business together – which includes Sterling-Oliver Funeral Apartments in Mexico and Chesapeake with roots dating back to 1865.
Professional Career
As well as her work in regional theatre productions, she also boasts a vast list of daytime and prime time television credits. At first she appeared as guest star in various radio programs such as Railroad Hour, United Steel Hour Suspense & Shadow before landing roles on various daytime dramas & comedies.
Sterling would go on to battle undefeated Welshman Brett Johns and finish early with another stunning submission. At UFC on FOX 24 however he would come up against former WSOF bantamweight champion Marlon Moraes but would fall short by way of split decision loss.
As a way of remembering its late complex litigation partner and former Chairman, C.R. Stribling Jr, we are honored to create the 2021 Col. C.R. Stribling Jr. Community Service Award in his memory.
Achievement and Honors
Sterling Oliver has earned himself the reputation as a top actor in his field. He has appeared in multiple independent films like Room for Rent (2018) and Spermicide (2014) as well as numerous television series and short films.
As part of his college experience, he joined the CSULB theater program where he learned Fitzmaurice voicework, Balinese mask work and scene study techniques – ultimately giving him an authentic acting style to bring powerful performances on camera.
He may seem shy and humble, yet for over 25 years he has quietly served his community well. For this outstanding effort the Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce awarded him with their Col. C. R. Stribling Community Service Award.

Sterling Oliver doesn’t fit the typical image of a funeral director, yet she is unafraid of entering this industry. With both an undergraduate degree in communication and associate degree from TCC under her belt as well as genuine warmth she more than qualifies to handle all the details that accompany a loved one’s loss.
Sterling has long been a resident of Mexico and recently was honored with the Col. C.R. Stribling Award by the Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce. Sterling credits his parents with instilling within him an appreciation for service which he continues today in both his career at Central Bank of Audrain County as a banker, as well as volunteering for various organizations like Miss Missouri Scholarship Pageant, Mexico Community Betterment Association and Optimist Club of Mexico.
