Steve Enders, NHRA Pro Stock and NHRA Top Fuel World Champion
Steve Enders was a kind and compassionate individual with a strong connection to his family. He enjoyed surfing, traveling with his young family, volunteering at STARS Rape Crisis Center, Keep El Paso Beautiful and Prevent Blindness Texas as well as volunteering on their board of directors.
He worked as a geologist in the uranium commodities business before transitioning to Adult Probation as an administrator.
Early Life and Education
After graduating Yale in 1920, Enders struggled to find an occupation that allowed him to explore his interests. After trying a business venture but finding it unfulfilling, he shifted into philology but found no success there either.
In 1948, he accepted a position at the Children’s Medical Center of Boston and initiated research into viruses that affect children. Through his work he pioneered a vaccine against poliomyelitis for which he shared a Nobel Prize award along with Frederick Robbins and Thomas Weller in 1954.
He began his geologist career working for Pegasus Gold, Texas Gulf and Terradex Corporation before joining Phelps Dodge Mining Company for fourteen years. Additionally, he served on the boards of directors of Galactic Resources and Cupric Canyon Capital before becoming a member of Tortoise & Freshwater Turtle Specialist Group.
Steve brings an extensive background in retirement planning to EWM. By conducting educational seminars and helping local businesses set up retirement plans, EWM quickly established itself as one of the go-to firms. Now focused on developing technology solutions tailored specifically for his clientele while staying abreast of ever-evolving investments and insurance landscape.
Pro Stock star Erica Enders extended her dominating year with another victory at the Texas NHRA FallNationals, riding her Melling Performance/Elite Motorsports Camaro to victory in the final round. Enders has now collected nine national event wins to her credit and currently leads teammate Aaron Stanfield by 165 points heading into the final races of Countdown to Championship.
Enders battled her way back from early elimination rounds to pass Cristian Cuadra, Matt Hartford and Kyle Koretsky before defeating Anderson in the semifinals and winning Texas two-step! Her victory secured both Houston and Dallas events – which make Enders the current defending winner for both races!
