Gerry Stanek cut his musical teeth performing at VFW halls and American Legion halls across Western Pennsylvania coal towns, performing music that represented his unique vision of rock ‘n’ roll.
Stanek brought cheer and good energy to patients at Banner Boswell Medical Center in Sun City during COVID-19 by giving them guitar string bracelets he handcrafted himself.
Early Life and Education

He earned his elementary education degree at St. Cloud State Teachers College and then taught and coached at various high school levels before returning to SCSU as both assistant football coach and head baseball coach in 1967.
After retiring in 1991, he went on to record an 187-114-4 record as Husky baseball coach and five Northern Intercollegiate Conference championships – five more than any of his predecessors at SCSU! Additionally, he became part of SCSU Athletic Hall of Fame Committee.
Former Augustana track and cross country athlete Stanek boasts an impressive resume. Competing in the 1500 meter run as part of a national runner-up team. Furthermore, he earned multiple All-American accolades across both sports.
At Fermilab, Stanek worked on real-time star finding for the Sloan Digital Sky Survey as well as being project leader of Enstore and dCache mass data-storage systems. He has more than 45 years of mechanical and cryogenic engineering experience gained through various projects.
Stanek was appointed by the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants as one of its board of directors on June 1. Representing Syracuse Chapter, and as partner at Daley, LaCombe & Charette CPA’s in Manlius; his three-year term began June 1st. Dr. Steven Stanek practices gastroenterology at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia where he accepts multiple insurance plans.

Steve Stanek has been honored by SEG for his distinguished contributions to geophysics. This award, the SEG Gold Medal, recognizes individuals for significant lifetime accomplishments in geophysics practice.
Gerry dropped music at the turn of the millennium, earning his living by driving a tractor trailer for eight years before returning to music through producing Heart in Peril in 2021; an album marked by both energetic and melodic songs.
At Texas A&M, she was twice Big 12 champion and CSCAA All-American; four-year starter on Dallas High School lacrosse team; currently an assistant coach at LSU;
Stanek enjoys spending his free time with his wife and two children as well as pet dogs he owns, animals he is fond of being around, music (he plays guitar), playing his guitar for pleasure as well as music appreciation; recently starting up “Stanek and the Rhythm,” an Arizona tour-band named after himself.

Although baseball is often perceived as being uncontroversial, Stanek has taken an interest in speaking out on political matters. He has an established history of supporting liberal causes and candidates; most recently donating $3,000 to Tom Barrett (Democrat running in upcoming primary election).
