He previously served as Senior Vice President for Technology Transfer and Commercialization at TEDCO, overseeing their funding programs as well as helping Maryland-based technology companies expand their business relationships with federal labs and research universities.

Achievement and Honors

Steven Auvil serves as Executive Vice President for Operations and Programs of TEDCO, where he oversees its administrative, technology transfer and entrepreneurial support programs. Prior to this role, Steven worked in academic technology transfer at both UMBC and Johns Hopkins University.

He has extensive patent litigation experience in US district courts, and has successfully represented clients before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on patent-related cases. He is also a frequent speaker on intellectual property issues.

This semester, WSU Honors College students who were engaging in mentored research received Auvil Scholar Awards from the Office of Undergraduate Research. These $1,000 Auvil awards are intended to further their studies, thanks to an estate gift from Grady and Lille Auvil of Wenatchee tree-fruit entrepreneurs.

Personal Life

He was an active member of Emmaus Rotary Club and Faith Church in Trexlertown. Additionally, he enjoyed traveling to Michigan and Florida as well as movies and theatre productions.
