It keeps the skeptics at bay and gives the office a much-needed brain teaser to boot. One caveat though: crosswords aren’t for everyone. Luckily, there’s an app for that. You can find a plethora of free crammed puzzles to solve on the go, and you won’t have to deal with the niggling nits of your coworkers.

It’s no wonder, considering the New York Times crossword has been around for over 100 years. The newest incarnation is a tad sluggish, but it’s still a big hit. In addition to the usual suspects, the New York Times is now joined by several other high-powered players including Chicago Tribune and Wall Street Journal.
